Who We Are
Leon and Teresa Shearer founded International Missions Support (IMS) in the fall of 2002. They had previously started and pastored Living Waters Fellowship in Coronado, CA. for sixteen years. As much as they love the church and pastoral ministry, they felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to step out in faith and establish a ministry primarily focused on assisting Christian leaders serving in countries that lack resources necessary for long-term successful ministry.
Having worked in church planting and pastoral ministry for over 30 years, having served as missionaries in México and Malaysia and going on many mission trips to other nations, they have seen firsthand many needs that are so often overlooked or ignored.
They have seen hurting missionaries and suffering leaders who often feel alone or isolated without the benefit of personal and relational support. They know about the tragedies and hardships of life that can undermine or disable the very leaders that God is raising up to advance His kingdom. They have seen very capable leaders walk off the field never to go back. IMS is committed to help these precious brothers and sisters whenever possible through teaching, encouragement and support.
