To fulfill the vision of IMS, we utilize a multidisciplinary approach:
TEACH
Our intent at IMS is to utilize the training and experience that we have to equip others to teach and minister effectively. In keeping with this goal, Leon and Teresa are certified as Mobile Advanced Trainers with Leadership Training International (LTI) based in Chesapeake, Virginia. LTI has developed an extensive leadership training curriculum consisting of twelve modules for training leaders. Further, Leon studied at Fuller Theological Seminary and received his MA degree in Global Leadership concentrating on the needs and opportunity for Christian leaders in the world today. They have established three Leadership Training Institutes in México, one in Nicaragua and one in Malaysia and have taught individual modules in several other countries as well. They also do personalized consulting and training for specific ministry leaders.
ENCOURAGE
At IMS we concentrate on developing personal relationships with the pastors, missionaries and other leadership to whom we minister. This enables us to encourage and support them more effectively through counsel and in prayer. Often when we have finished a ministry trip, we realize that while God was gracious and blessed the public ministry, an equally important work was done in the many hours as we listened to, counseled and encouraged the leaders privately.
SUPPORT
The support at IMS is made tangible in physical, emotional and financial ways. We support pastors and missionaries by hands-on help with their ministries. At times, we have gone and provided pastoral care for pastors who needed to be away for a time. We have assisted in leadership transitions and often we have been present to assist in difficult situations that occur in the life of a church. We also regularly provide counseling and support through e-mails, phone calls and especially through face-to-face Skype and FaceTime calls.
Further, as a non-profit corporation, IMS provides the means for donors to send support to missionaries, assists missionaries in obtaining donor support for their ministries, and as funds are available, helps financially from our own ministry funds.
